Hello, My name is
Riccardo Pirotto!
I am a Berlin-based multidisciplinary designer from Italy. I worked for Design companies such as: Sagmeister&Walsh and Future Brand.

In 2021, during the pandemic, the world faced not only Covid-19 but also a significant issue with people's mental health. In the midst of this, I had the opportunity to start working for a meditation app focused on Transcendental Meditation, a practice with a long history, with over 10 million people having learned TM since the 1960s.
This job marked a turning point for me, leading me into the digital realm of creating and designing products. As the MVP of the app was developed, an international team of skilled contractors was brought together to improve its core features.
Over nearly 6 months, we focused on redesigning several sections of the app, including the Library and Events, while also adding new features and enhancing the user interface. Working closely with a UX Lead, we meticulously followed the classic design process workflow, starting from the initial empathetic understanding phase, prototypes & testing, culminating in the realization of the final design.
Within the first month of the new launch, library engagement rose by 22.6%, reflecting the positive impact of the redesign on user interaction and content accessibility.
Case Study: Library Feature Redesign Workshop
Among many of different features we redesigned. The Library tab was particularly bespoke and challenging. Here an example of the internal design procress.
With a series of online workshops we define first scope & requirements and then we proceed to the actual ideation starting from the research insights. We proceed to HMW and the Sketches. Oddly enough (or not?!) one my final sketch is quite similar to the Final Design.
Here an example of my conceptual work. Introducing this custom UI elements as overlay for indicating progress and completation of an item by the user. Transcendental Meditation always give the analogy the “wave”, when you transcend your mind switch from a surface level of consciusness to a deep level.
Some of the custom components designed for the UI Kit
As part of the redesign, I had the opportunity to rethink also the images and in particular I have created custom illustrations for the Series of the Learn Sections. Here a few of them
